The Paint Bar Fundraiser, held on June 23rd, 2012, in Newton, Massachusetts was a fun and successful event! The event was organized by Restavec Freedom Alliance volunteer Nancy Evans who has traveled twice to Haiti. William J. Johnston Middle School Read-a-thon
52 Students at William J. Johnston Middle School in Colchester, CT., recently participated in the second annual “Read a ton, Help a ton” readathon. This year, it was decided that the proceeds would help two charities, and students reading would benefit the local food bank along with Restavec Freedom Alliance. Over $750 was raised for each charity and students presented checks to each organization. They also presented flowers to thank both organizations for all of their wonderful work. December Fundraiser: Success!!
Dan and Kathy Novak hosted an extremely successful fundraiser to assist us in meeting our goal of raising 5K to get matching funds from the Equitas Group for RFA. “Comfort and Care” Cookbook Fundraiser
Comfort and Care, put together by friends and supporters of RFA and family, is a collection of comfort food recipes from all times. Anything that gives one comfort was put into this wonderfully crafted cookbook. Proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to our program in Chantal, Haiti. We hope to have the cookbooks available for holiday giving – $13 per cookbook, $3 shipping and handling for non-local orders. Bacon Academy Community Activist Class Donation
A few days ago Ellen Donohue went to go speak with students in the Community Activism class at the Bacon Academy in Colchester, CT. After watching a presentation about Restavec and learning about what Restavec Freedom Alliance does in Haiti they set a goal to fill a 50lb bag with donated supplies.
