Work continues on our home and our latrine, for the children to use during school and for the community to use who attend church, is almost complete!! Below is a photo of our new latrine! April 3, 2012 Construction Project Update!
We are seeing some great progress with the construction of our first permanent home in Chantal, Haiti! Our contractors are working at an incredible rate and are really motivated to finish the construction so that our children can move into a place they can truly call “home.” As of right now we have raised approximately $20,000 from our extremely supportive donors and foundation partners. 2/8/12 Construction Update
Our construction project is well underway! The dedicated workers are working very hard to get this project done for our children. You can see in the photos that the entire foundation is complete including the plumbing. We have raised about 1/3 of the money we need to complete the house. Construction Begins!
Manmy Ellen, We are happy to announce the beginning of the construction process today December 12, 2011. My wife and I were there on site this morning to pray with the contractor’s team who is responsible to do the job. They went with wood sticks, boards, nails, strings for the laying out and the land survey with a copy of the building’s blue print to start punting the axes on place and the placement for ever details for the building. Successful move to our new rented home!
The children of Restavec Freedom Alliance are now living in their new home in Chantal, Haiti. We are just days away from our first anniversary. What better way to celebrate than to see the children happy in their new home! 5/20/11 Update – Children & Solar Panel in Chantal
Today the children woke up at 7:00 a.m., took a shower, had breakfast and went to school from 8:00 until 12:30 p.m. After school they came home to have lunch at 1:00 and then took a siesta until 3:00. Once they awoke the children studied their lessons until 6:00. They had fun for an hour and then we had dinner at seven. They were all in bed by 9:00. We had a great day! Read more »
Update 4/20/11. New Furniture!!
Dear Mammy Ellen, {Exec. Director Ellen Graber Donohue} I am so happy to announce that we have all the furniture sets built and ready to be used: 18 benches, one cabinet (buffet or armoire) and three desk tables. Please share our gratitude with the donors for those benches, desks and the lockers/cabinets. The kids will now be able to sit comfortably at school and church.
